Kamwini and Kaemongor villages received relief food from
Turkana county Government. Following the drought and hunger that strikes some
part of the county and caused the relief of three people from 15th
of November. The minister for public service, decentralized Administration and
Disaster Management Hon. Charles Loikioto said that the community of Komwani
and Kaemongor has received maize, beans and cooking oil. However Hon. Lokioto
said that the community of Komwini villages has received 70 bags of maize, 8
bag of beans and 64 liters of cooking oil.
The other village of the same place also received 80 bags of
maize, 8 bags of beans and 64 liters of cooking oil. Hon. Lokioto added that
those villages are also affected by lack of water and the villagers take more
than two days to get water and forced them to graze in the neighboring country
Uganda which is 200 Kilometers from that place. He said this today at those two
villages which are 5 kilometers from gold and he distributed food for more than
7500 people. The minister urged the well-wishers to fund for the community who
are suffering from hunger, NGO's like World Food Programme to intervene even
although it is their Programme but they should handle it as emergency.
