Turkana Tourist and cultural Association started aground setting to revive Tourism in Turkana County on 22.01.2014

45 stakeholders who are attached in Tourism sector held a function to revive tourism in Turkana County to set a bench mark on tourism. Speaking during the forum the County Chief Officer Mr. Mathew Logurale said that since 1980s Turkana County has been receiving tourists but on low scale. Mr. Mathew Logurale however added that although there are many challenges like food, insecurity, and facilities there is need for the stakeholders to come up with a way to improve Tourism Sector in the County. He also said that Turkana County has not benefited from Tourists due to lack of modernized facilities like Five star, Three star, Four star hotels with swimming pools, playing grounds which Tourists can enjoy. Tourism Sector markets Turkana County both Nationally and Locally to generate income for self reliance. Line ministries present were, Ministry of Education,  Energy,  Kenya Wildlife, Hotels representatives, Land users among others.
