A KPR officer was killed in another raid at Kakong in Turkana South. The raid took place at around
1.45 pm by bandits suspected to be from the neighboring Pokot County. Turkana South
Area O.C.P.D, Mr. Joshua Assetto confirmed the incident saying that unknown numbers
of animals were stolen. Turkana County Leaders spoke in one voice reacting to
the raising numbers of attacks by Pokot bandits describing it as a fight by Pokot to get a share of the recently discovered oil and gas. They said it is no
longer a fight for cattle but for Oil.
