The Civil Societies in
Turkana County were sensitized on the rights of the people on issues of
extractive industry. The sensitization took place at the Lokoriama Hall
in Lodwar town to empower the Citizens on their Rights and how to benefit
from industries in the County. The Civil Society and Community Based Organizations
(C.B.O’S) wanted to know how Tullow Oil Company has compensated the community
and if not they were to form a team to represent the community. The committee
to be formed was to face County Government; Tullow Oil Company and National Government
to make sure issues of the community are well addressed. Speaking at the event,
