TURKANA CIVIL SOCIETY LEADERS ADDRESS THE CHALLENGES THEY FACE IN THE PRESENCE OF BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONER

Turkana Civil Society Leaders met the British High Commissioner at Annah Nanjala Center where they explained the challenges they face while advocating for the welfare of Turkana County Citizens. The Civil Society explained that the challenge they mainly face is that they have been ignored by both the Turkana County Government and Tullow Oil Company. Speaking on behalf of the Civil Society, the County Intervener of Turkana Transparency International, Paul Edong, said that Tullow Oil Company has concentrated too much on improving its relationship with the Government and ignored addressing the issues of the local Community.
