The recently completed
Lodwar township road network underwent a serious inspection carried out by
engineers from the Kenya Urban Roads Authority in collaboration with Turkana
County Government. The inspection carried out involved five roads cutting
across the Central Business District (C.B.D) with the roads covering a total of
3.2 kilometers. The inspection included finishing up the remaining part of the
job which was road marking and drainage. Present during this activity was the
general manager in charge of planning and environment, Engineer Kinoti, Manager
in charge of maintenance, Engineer Rashid and resident engineers and the
contractor. Speaking during this activity, the General Director of the Kenya urban
roads authority, Engineer Joseph Nkadayo confirmed that all the materials used
in the construction of the roads met the expected standards and that residents
of Lodwar town should not doubt the quality of the roads.
