Turkana county governor,
honorable Josephat nanok, accompanied British High Commissioner as they
assessed the progress of hunger safeness progamme in lodwar town. The programme
which was set up years ago to help the elderly and the disabled in the society
has been facing challenges lately and it was time for the decision makers to
get back to it. Speaking to the help age committee, governor Nanok pointed out
that the support the elders are receiving now is just but temporal and not
permanent and provided some advice to the beneficiaries. Rights committee
chairman, mark nakain, speaking on behalf of the committee had various concerns
which he forwarded to the decision makers. He also pleaded the British
government through the high commissioner to add the number of beneficiaries in
the phrase two of the programme to help more elderly and disabled people in the
society.
