Eight
people have been confirmed dead at kakuma refugee camp in Turkana County after
war broke between two south Sudanese tribe the Dinka and Nuer living in the
camp.
Confirming
the incident the county commander of criminal investigation Turkana County, Mr.
Moses Cheruiyot said the war broke out on
26th October when a motorcycle belonging to Nuer person, knocked down and
injured a Dinka man. The two started fighting which led to the others joining
in the fight.
The
fight also extended to other nationalities forcing them to flee the camp and
seek refuge in kakuma police station. The camp has got hundred thousand two
hundred people including Congolese, Cameroonians, Ugandans, Ethiopians and Somalis
among others.
