Lodwar mixed
primary school management committee earlier held a meeting with the
parents to discuss land grabbing issue that is currently affecting the school
activities. The meeting took place at the school’s main hall where the
committee and parents shared ideas on what actions to take in stopping
individuals and institutions who are grabbing land belonging to the school.
The school
committee has already taken a step in meeting the involved parties’ months ago
and so far they have shown no response hence the decision to meet the parents.
Part of the school playing ground has been grabbed by individuals while PAG
church has taken over the school E.C.D centre. Speaking at the school after the
meeting, Mr. Joseph, who is a parent, said he has been cooperating with the
school management in trying to solve the issue.
Speaking also
about the same, Lodwar mixed primary Head teacher, James Akoyo, said they have
held several meetings but they have bared no fruits.
Parents
contributed money during the meeting to help in the construction of a gate
which will be in place in the next 2 weeks.
