Bio-metric
registration programme was officially launched in Turkana County at the
Governor’s office in Kanamkemer, Lodwar town. The programme is an electronic
registration of all public servants both at the national and county level and
it was launched by the deputy governor on behalf of the governor who was out on
official duty. It involves three stages that include verification of data,
finger print and photo uploading and signing.
Bio-metric
registration programme aims at providing well organized structures at the
national and county government levels based on the given functions and to
establish the existing human resource capacity at both levels of governance. Speaking
during the launch, chairman of the national transition authority, Mr. Kinuthia
Wamwangi said he was satisfied with the process in Turkana County.
Speaking
also during the same event, Turkana county deputy governor, Peter Ekai, said
that the process is mandatory to every employee.
The deputy
governor officially launched the programme which is meant to enhance service delivery
in public service for the benefit of all Kenyans by being at the front line to
be registered as a public servant.
