Turkana
county health ministry launched 4 trucks which will be used to supply
medicine to various dispensaries all over the county. Each lorry was assigned
to supply medicine to different dispensaries in every ward. The flagging off
was presided over by county executive in charge of health and sanitation, Jane
Ajele accompanied by other health officials.
The Lorries
will supply medicine to 110 dispensaries including missionary facilities and
partnering health centers. Speaking when flagging off the trucks, health
executive, Jane Ajele said the county government has spent Sh. 40 million in purchasing
the medicines that will benefit everyone.
She also
added that HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis victims and children below the age of 5
years will get the medicines free in every dispensary.
The
first lady, Margaret Kenyatta was expected to visit the county to launches her on
going beyond zero campaign which targets to promote health access to mothers
and children.
