A 25 year
old national reservist officer was shot and killed and his body found dumped at
a farm orchard today morning at Nakwamoru sub-location in Kaputir location. The
officer was heading to the farm after completing his duty but little did he
know that bandits suspected to be from the neighboring Pokot County were
trailing him behind. The officer was reported to be missing at 8 pm last night
and later gunshots were heard coming from the farm.
Confirming
the incident today, Kaputir location chief, Mr. Charles Lokuya said the young
officer was shot twice at the back and on the head and his gun taken away by the
bandits.
The
officer’s body was found today at 6 in the morning and was taken to his house
where the burial has already been conducted. As at now the situation is calm and
security has been beefed up in areas of Lorogon and Nakwamoru.
