Kapedo
mixed secondary school was closed and students were escorted under
tight security to baringoFollowing tensions at Kapedo in Turkana east Sub-County,
the students remained in the school compound till the last day of KCSE exam.
Speaking during the close of the school, the head
teacher Mr. Namunwa thanked the government for offering security to ensure the
students finish their examination safely. He went ahead and said that he is
optimistic that come the opening of next term the situations will be normal.
He went ahead and explained the challenges faced by
candidates which include missing the last biology practical paper.
Mr. Namunwa said the school had to close early due
to security issues and tension that has made it difficult for normal learning
to continue.The situation led to postponement of Form one to form three
student’s end term examinations, till the beginning of the term, next year.
