Kenya
certificate of secondary education examinations kicked off as schools
in Turkana County face water shortage. Water shortage is a foreseen potential
challenge since it has been missing for the last 3 days though no other
challenge was reported when the exams kicked off.
Our reporter
paid Lodwar High school a visit where they had a word with the principal who
said with the current water shortage students are going to be negatively
affected and could face problems such as lack of drinking water, food shortage
and lack of water for sanitation use.
The
principal is now hoping LOWASCO will take action by supplying water to all
learning institutions with the water crisis being felt all over the region. He
also added that the school is expecting a higher mean score this year as
compared to last year’s 7.5 which was a B-.
