In duration
of one week, Kapedo town in Turkana east has been the talk of Turkana county
following recent frequent attacks that has hit the region. The attacks which
are believed to being carried out by bandits suspected to be from West Pokot
County has affected the education sector causing tension among pupils, students,
teachers and parents.
Speaking to
Radio Akicha while at Lokwamosing primary school in Kapedo, Turkana county KNUT
secretary, Tony Nasia Ewoton said they have agreed with teachers at the region
to be on the look and be careful while in the school premises.
It is now
becoming clear that if the national government which has the obligation of
providing security to all Kenyans does not act the education sector is going to
face a huge problem.
