Turkana
township Maendeleo ya wanawake group paid a visit to women prisoners at
the Lodwar GK prison as they donated sanitary tools. The women group donated
tissues, sanitary towels, pads, facial oil and soaps to the prisoners which
will help them maintain high level of hygiene.
Speaking
during the donation at Lodwar GK prisons, Mrs. Priscilla Atabo who is a
representative of Maendeleo ya Wanawake Lodwar township ward said women in
prison should be supported because they are facing hard times.
She has
however called for the county government officials especially area MCA to be
responsible in supporting the prisoners by visiting them frequently and
supplying necessary materials.
